I do not control my pets in that manner. If the game had been truly play tested before release, the bugs would be caught and fixed. I don't even give my sims pets anymore with the exception of the fish tank, bird or womrat. That's why I got a pet, so I could work to cater to his every whim. My cat has big black spots on his back, and it would not let me do that. From the front, however, their cheeks appear huge, not the slender faces one would expect.
Similar to creating a sim. Certain breeds of dogs look strange. I have pets in my house and the thought of my sims being able to have them too was exciting. A doberman's lives approx 10-15 years. The only problem I have with them is the inability to really customize the coat. My one complaint about the cats is the eyes. Don't, it leaves a blue spot in it's place that is a pain to get rid of. From the side, the German Shepherd, Siberian Husky, and other breeds with similar face look great.
The thought of being able to make sim versions of my pets was even more so. The cats look more realistic than the dogs. If EA tested the game, looking at the game credits there are a lot of names listed under testers, there would be no need for patches. Yes, there are cheat codes that allow you to control the pet and cancel autonomous actions. The idea of pet jobs is ridiculous, my cat doesn't work for me.
When Pets came out, I rushed out to buy it. I have not made any werewolves (just not interested).Overall, having pets for my sims was not what I expected. This goes for every ep/sp they have made. I work for him. It's gotten to the point when I create a sim who's ltw is to raise 20 puppies or kittens, have so many pets reach the top of their careers, or make so many pet friends I cheat to change their ltw. Time stays at 1x.
Sim Pets have adult stage lifespan to rival the human sims adult stage. The eyes are the same for the cats and the dogs. The reality was a little different.Creating a Pet - No problem. It is rare to have all sims (human and pet) asleep at the same time (birds and womrats are excluded from that).
I would recommend the others first (with the exception of Open For Business). I know the fish were there already.I do not like the strays in my sims yards. Cats eyes are slit pupiled looking, not a sim cat.I don't mind the lack of control of a pet as you do a sim. Once it was a career reward that was not replaceable without cheats.I do like the items that came with this ep. The cats will destroy items in the yard. It's an ok ep. The dogs will dig holes that I have to have my sims fill.
I tried using the move objects on cheat and buying the hole away. With a pet in the house, that rarely happens. Go figure. My biggest gripe is that without pets when the sims are asleep or at work/school time speeds up to 3x. They have characteristics (similar to a human sim but for them).
I am not going to go into the bugs in the game except for this. Now for my real gripes. A human sim's and sim doberman's adult stages is 29 days. For me, that made it worth buying. After a while they bring out a patch.
This is a good and fun game. I love animals and the sims games so I knew I had to have it, so any sim fan should have the game and it is part of the collection.
I LOVE this expansion pack. It was weird getting used to not being able to control your pet (they have a mind of their own. The create-a-pet option was so much fun, especially when it came down to layering a pet's coat so it could be mult-colored. Gameplay was fun too. you can see their needs, but can't control them. You have to use your sim to train them or encourage them to eat/play/chew/etc)., but also a new level of fun.
i might get this game today at walmart for only[.].i will expreirience the fun in the game.(i am not new to any of the sims games).
The Sims 2 Pets is a great, fun game. It is very enjoyable. It doesn't come with a lot of pet things, but it does come with the basics. The dogs and cats are great. It is a lot better than the Sims 1 Unleashed. I recommend this game more than any other Sims game.
